If you’re still using Internet Explorer for your web surfing, you need to close that window and open a new one.

Firefox 3 launched last week with a huge Download Day that had more than 8 million installs reported in 24hours – unofficially setting a new Guinness Record for downloads in a day.

Firefox is an open source browser produced by the Mozilla team and it’s the most popular browser for the technorati of the web, and it’s the one you should be using too.

You’ve got thousands of pictures on your computer, today some things to do with them instead of just having them byte up your hard drive.

HP Photosmart Studio Kiosks are popping up across Canada.

My mom uses MyPublisher.com to make photobooks from her retirement vacations. She says it has just enough choices in the layout options to get creative without too many to make it confusing.

Mac users can easily get their images printed into postcards, calendars, books and prints using their .Mac account in iPhoto.

How many pictures do you have sitting on your hard drive? One of the things about digital cameras is we take more photos, but now we have more photos – and they’re not doing any warm fuzzies sitting on a hard drive, so it’s time to tweak them and get them on a wall.

Summer vacation is just about here, and while the kids may get 2 months away from the classroom, you don’t want them to totally shut off the learning experience. The latest device from LeapFrog will have them learning while they play video games.

The Leapster2 Learning Game System is the latest addition to the Leapster family, and is also able to match up with schoolwork, enabling kids to pick and choose the game they like with spelling lists, math problems and more.

It’s a genre of gaming they refer to as edutainment.

The gang at Google have pimped up the gmail a bit by giving everyone a chance to peek inside the gmail labs.

There are 13 new experimental features in Gmail Labs you’re being invited to test out.

There are shortcuts, signature applications and more – all for free in the gmail labs. But there is a catch.

If you’re going to brave the Labs world, it’s important to keep in mind this is a lab and the features may break at any time, may disappear temporarily or permanently or .. they may work so well that they graduate and become regular features

Baby SmashI’m not really a fan of the toys my 13month old son gets to play with at daycare. They have old cell phones, remote controls and keyboards lying around for the kids to bang on.

So guess what he wants to play with when he gets home?

Yeah, I’ve had a few windows meltdowns while he sat on my lap and hit a random key combination that did things I cant begin to describe.

So thanks to programmer and dad Scott Hanselman who wanted an easy way to let his toddler play on his computer without deleting files or quitting programs – we have a solution, BabySmash.

Mobileme

The iPhone is coming to Canada on July 11. We all heard that message loud and clear last week, but were you listening to the rest of what Steve Jobs had to say?

There were some big announcements, the one that will affect all mac users is MobileMe, a new Internet service that delivers push email, push contacts and push calendars
from the MobileMe service in the cloud to native applications on iPhone, iPod touch, Macs and PCs.

What he means by “the cloud” is the web. It’s a term known as cloud computing. If you use google reader or gmail, you’re cloud computing. Your data is stored on a remote computer that is accessible by any other internet computer.

flipLast week Pure Digital announced the release of the Flip Ultra in Canada. The Flip is the video camera Oprah made famous last November with her youtube show. It’s a tight little package that takes video and lets you easily fire them up to the web with just a couple clicks.

It took 7 months to get the product in Canada, but only 2 days to make it obsolete. Immediately after Canadian distribution was announced, Pure Digital launched the Mino, a slimmer, faster, updated version of the Ultra that charges via usb instead of using bulky batteries.
