About

buzz bishopbuzz bishop is the afternoon host at 95Crave, an adult top 40 station in vancouver [3p-7p].

he taught himself how to write html one rainy weekend in 1996. a few days later, cyberbuzz was uploaded to geocities with a borrowed 9600 baud modem.

the modem is now gone, and he’s trying his hand at wordpress, but when it comes right down to starting from scratch buzz still composes websites the same way he did that weekend: in notebook, with raw html.

in the beginning cyberbuzz was just another list of the coolest sites online. it evolved into a weekly piece on his radio countdown show where buzz’s fresh and enthusiastic approach caught the ear of colleague, tom shipman, who stepped in and offered cyberbuzz a position in his stable of syndicated shows.

today, cyberbuzz is a one minute daily radio feature, syndicated through soundsource networks, about the internet and wired culture. it takes a quick and youthful look at the web world. from cool, new websites, to the hottest games, from gadgets to gear, cyberbuzz covers it all.

buzz has taken his brand to all forms of media.

in addition to being on the radio and internet, in 2004/2005 cyberbuzz.tv appeared on breakfast television on vancouver’s citytv with buzz on board as the show’s tech specialist.

in the fall of 2005, cyberbuzz was added as a weekly column to vancouver’s 24hrs newspaper.

buzz bishop and buzz aldrinover the past decade plus, cyberbuzz has aired across canada and the united states and around the world. australia, namibia, the u-k, mexico and more have all “caught the buzz.”

cyberbuzz currently airs in canada and around the world on the armed forces radio network with a total weekly audience reach estimated at 1 million.

now, about that name… he’s always asked “is that your real name?” well, he was born just 7 months after buzz aldrin walked on the moon.
