You got one thing right, I've been on Facebook more than I ever have since the new redesign came out.

Although its probably hated by many, I have synced my Twitter to my Facebook.

I consider myself an advocate of Twitter, at least among my small circle of friends. But at the end of the day, it isn't about Twitter, Facebook, or the next big thing - its about the people.

While I have met hundreds of awesome people through Twitter, they are considered my 'net' friends. My high school buddies, former co-workers, classmates - they aren't on Twitter. By syncing my Facebook and Twitter, it gives me an opportunity to discuss things I care about with not only people that are interested in the topics (twitter), but also people that knew me before I was just @anothersamchan.

I voted 'no' because I feel that the original elements of Facebook which I had liked (a forum to connect with long lost friends, former classmates, etc.) are long gone (wall to wall is pretty much dead) and replaced by many things which can be loosely described as 'gimmicks'.

In an ideal world, every last one of my friends would be on Twitter and I would never go on Facebook again but until that happens, I ain't gonna go deactivate my account because they moved the newsfeed, no matter how inconvenient the latest layout is.

exactly, i find the culture of facebook a little too much to actively participate in wall postings, applications, zombie biting, 25 things quizzes etc

however, that is where my audience is, so i will play there, if only to lure them outside of the garden and onto the internet ;)

I think you may like it Buzz (and forgive me if I am wrong) because you mainly use facebook as a marketing tool. You draw people to your Blog from it and restrict people from posting on your facebook page ... not that there's anything wrong with that. What you love about it is what 95% of facebook users hate about it.

I use clusty.com because it's not google.com and I used facebook because it wasn't myspace or twitter. Some smart programmer will come along and give everyone back what they want soon and it will be called something else. Or facebook will stop being so draconian and realise that although we like to throw sheep ... we don't like to be sheep.

Facebook jumped the shark and I eagerly await the next best thing.
